Her teacher is a very seasoned Kindergarten teacher with exceptional credentials (this is her 26th Kindergarten class, and her 12th year at Cambridge). My daughter has been enrolled at Cambridge since she was 2.5. She is four now and I am extremely pleased with her academic progress. She has been exposed to things that other children don't get until much later in their schooling. The teachers and administrators have taken the time to learn my child

The facility is older and I have noticed teacher turnover, but it seemed to benefit the school. At four my child can count to one hundred , count by 5's and 10's, add and subtract, knows time and money, can discuss the parts of an insect, knows the Planets and Continents, can read simple sentences, and more. My child had been a student there for over 4 years and there still had not been any significant changes or improvements in upgrading the facilities. The classrooms date back to the 80's and as far as teaching and education the morale was very low for the teachers with a very high teacher turnover rate.

Read more They need to upgrade facilities (get computers, desks, chairs), offer incentives for the teachers (healthcare benefits, pay raises etc.) Some grade levels are combined making it difficult for some students to grasp and learn material at there grade level. My child was not academically prepared for the next level because there was not enough time spent in his/her grade level to teach what was needed to move on. Now I have to pay for private tutoring in areas that were not covered in the school year when I paid tuition for a higher standard of education. Read less

My child attended this academy from age 3years through 6th grade and did exceptionally well both academically and socially. This school does a great job teaching social skills and sheltering its students from unacceptable behavior typically displayed in public schools. However, most of the teachers here are not certified, and are poorly trained when it comes to teaching methods and skills. There is a high teacher turnover

The quality of the academic program at Cambridge Academy is exceptional. The curriculum is strong and replete of challenge. Students are accepted at 2 and half years of age through 7th grade which enables the school to follow them from preschool to middle school. The atmosphere is warm and nurturing.
... Read more Music, art, Spanish, chess, karate, and PE, are all offered as part of the extracurricular activities. Cambridge has been in the business of educating students since 1960 and is accredited with quality by the Georgia Accrediting Commission. There is a strong level of parental involvement and parents are expected to be an integral part of their child's education. Parents of the preschoolers are required to work a minimum of 5 hours in the class within the calendar year. The quality of the program is very good. Read less
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
