I went to DHS and I loved it. Most of the teachers are there because they love teaching. The only problem I saw there was the overcrowding. They had to put some mobile homes outside the shcool because the students didnt fit in the classrooms. Also, they need to use some of the money that goes to the

Dalton High is providing an excellent education for my child. The classes are challenging and the teachers encourage her to excell. There are also a variety of electives to meet the varied interests of the student body. The principal is very responsive to parents and provides wonderful leadership

... Read more being teachers they really make an effort to be friends inside and outside of the class room. I never realize until I got to college just how prepared I was. Seeing many of my friends struggle in the area of English really made me glad that I had such a good foundation in it. Besides the class work, I also feel that DHS provided me with an opportunity to grow in my social life. I was able to be sorrounded by great diversity and learned tolerance of others very quickly. ... Read more is also going to start taking kids on field trips to get hand on learning. Our athletic programs are great! Everyone can join a sport. They are renovating the schools to make them better. The guidance counselors really care about us teens because if there is a problem they call you up and even offer to change some of your classes. There are manny techical prep classes available for your child. Like Child Development, Automptives, and Fashion Marketing. In Child Development you work with toddlers and Automotives you work with cars. Read less

Yes, Dalton High is a great school , but like many others it can be a let down. If you aren't on the football field or parading around in a cheerleader skirt you are nothing. It is amazing on how much support is received in athletics. The school is very large and you would have to do a lot to stand out.

The coaches are great people and are devoted to teach their athletes to excel on the field, in the classroom, and as citizens

When entering college I became aware of the fact that my school had me well prepared, and my assignments were often easy. My children have recently returned to the Dalton Public School System this school year. It is only one week into the new school year & I have to say we are already very excited. The school system has really upgraded in the last three years and my children both seem very pleased with their teachers,

* In 2007-2008 Georgia administered the Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT) in English language arts, math, science and social studies to students in grade 11. Advanced Placement
