... Read more must operate under budget-wise, I beleive we are getting an excellent education for the dollar amount per child. We regularly produce test scores on the GHSGT and EOCT that place us at or above other schools in our RESA district. Do we have problems? Yes. Name one school in the country that doesn't have a problem of some nature. Could courses be more challenging? Absolutely. My duaghter has been attending White County schools for about 2 years now. We are not from this town. Southern hospitality is at its finest in White County, GA. What I do not understand is the amount of drugs at the schools. After a month in the new school my child came home and had never heard of some
... Read more of the drugs mentioned by students. We are from a town about 3 times the size of White County and did not have the issues with this area. To my surprise we are one of the top counties in the state for meth use. Our school system needs to step up to the plate with more random drug searches and education on a continuous basis to the students. Many student are related to one another (small town) and there is much favortism from teachers with students. It is very sad. Read less

Im a White County High School student. I am not local. I moved here about 6 years ago. I can say that I didnt really like it here at first but now I'm going to be sad to move away when I graduate in '09. We might have failing grades but you really cant blame the teachers and the school system its pretty
... Read more much the students. The teachers will do anything possible for the students to pass. I don't that that the WCH students understand that are teachers really do care and they try everyday to make us learn and most the time its us. I have lived happily in White County for almost seven years. I have attended other schools before White County in areas such as Gwinnett and Fulton County. White County is just like every other high school, it has its pros and cons. Personally, I would recommend White County if you plan on down-sizing
... Read more to a smaller community and a simpler lifestyle. The school system, however, could use some work. Teachers are their only for the good pay and holiday, I fear. Only a few select teachers really care anymore, which is a pity, but the ones that do, truly make a difference. Our school lunches could use work, but they do try, just like every other lunch lady in this beautiful country, and the principal is friendly and spontaneous. So, please, come if you would like. I graduated from wchs in may 2003; I had some great teachers whotried there best; however, most of those teachers have retired or left the school system. I don't blame the teachers for this, teachers are only as good as the students.As far as the student teacher ratio, I cant think of one class that had less then 20 students in it. The education system in the entire area is failing, thus the vast number of schools. Ninth graders now have their own school, they were deemed to roady for the high school. Once the remaining good teachers retire, there will be no hope left for white county. Read less

This school is good, but could be great. High School is grade 10-12 with 9th graders going at a seperate campus about a mile away. A real hassle. Plus the 9th graders, who are too young? to be in high school with the older children, are put together with the older children for extra-curricular activities.
... Read more Several teachers left this year (2005). Theater program is great, the teacher is very involved and motivates the students well. Band program is also very good. Foreign language and advanced prep courses need improvement. There is a lot of focus toward sending kids to 2 year higher ed, but not 4 year - even with the great advantage of the hope scholarship. I am a student here at White County High. I love this school. I have grown up in White County and we have been getting more and more crowded each year, especially in the grades 4th, 5th, and 9th. We will have around 6 or 7 schools next year and we'll probably get more soon. That should say something.
... Read more The high school is a great place for any one to go to. I highly recomend it to anyone. We have a great musical, drama, and art department. In this school there is something for everything including metals, band, cosmotology, art, drama, and advanced classes for the really smart people. I can't think of one bad thing about this school, not a one. Read less
* In 2007-2008 Georgia administered the Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT) in English language arts, math, science and social studies to students in grade 11. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
