We closely investigated over a dozen private schools before choosing AHA and we know we made the best choice. Small class sizes means my daughter gets extra attention, the teachers are exceptional people in addition to being great teachers, and the administration is available to discuss any concerns

My son has been a student in AHA since 1999. The academic curriculum is excellent. The students and the school have consistantly scored extremely high on the national standardized tests. We have seen firsthand how the students in AHA excel in academics. Overall the school has been a wonderful experience

Speaking as a parent of a child who got labeled as having behavioral problems by the administration and the parents, when in reality we discovered that our child has a serious medical issue, our experience with AHA was less than stellar. The administration made promises to work with our child in

Our child's classroom experience was unbearable and the teacher gave us the impression that she did not have the time or inclination to deal with our child and often our child was taken out of the classroom as not to disrupt the rest of the class. When your child comes to you crying about their classroom experience and telling you that they do not want to return to school, that does not scream 'love and nurturing' environment to me. Read less

I don't think the size of our school has any affect on anything except the hands on teaching we get from the teachers. ... Read more back to student behavior and also a parent not getting their way. Our teachers at AHA treat their students as if they were there own children. They love and nurture them, laugh with them and cry with them each and every day. They pour their hearts into them. It's nice to see just how many happy families there are out there that we serve. Again, people should not listen to us if they are unsure, they should come and see for themselves. You too will be amazed. Read less

If I had school age children in Cherokee County, or even near by Cobb, I would place them here, even though Cobb's and Cherokee's school systems are two of the better ones in Georgia. Read less

I have two children that have attended AHA from the very beginning of their educational years. My son has attended since kindergarten and is now in the eighth grade. He has become an exceptionally well-rounded individual. He excels academically and also excels with any activity he has been involved
... Read more with at AHA or outside of school. My daughter has been with AHA since Pre-k 3 and is in the first grade. She is following her brothers path and I cannot help but feel that this is because of the program progression that AHA has established. The children that have been there since the beginning and stay with it are the ones that truly get the most out of it. We have been truly blessed. Thank you all, administration, staff and teachers! We moved to this area because of the government schools. We fully intended on sending our child to the government schools until we did some research that showed test scores had been steadily declining. ... Read more teachers for three years running. It is my experience that when there is a complaint regarding 'administration', it usually can be traced back to a behavior problem with the child. Our child has excelled academically far beyond what I believe he/she could have accomplished in a government school. With math and reading scores that are late middle school and early high school level...and not standardized test scores, mind you, I cannot see how this education has not been worth every penny. AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
"Extended day" programs where the school day is extended before and after school to accommodate working parents. These programs should not be confused with common after school clubs or athletic activities.
Gifted and Talented
A school system may identify 10% to 15% or more of its student population as gifted and talented. A brief description of each area of giftedness or talent as defined by the Office of Gifted and Talented:

A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
