My children also went here. I read the reviews and this is what I mean when I say that this district is behind in their thinking about what works. First, you do not use taking away recess as a punishment. Many children who cannot sit still, focus, fall behind on their work or respond inappropriately
... Read more to other students or teachers, if anything need recess to expel some of that energy and to practice social skills as well as resolve social issues. Recess is the practice ground where this is able to happen. If the school was really with it, they would discuss, clarify different approaches to better behavior then allow the student to practice them. They also have a habit of announcing this recess punishment in front of all students. The focus needs to be on change not detracted by methods that do not work. Read less

Wonderful school and happy to be a Wildcat! When anyone enters the school, everyone greets you with a hello and a warm smile. The principal, support staff, and teachers are always striving for each child to be their best!! This is the place to be to get superb education!

I have two children that attend Bonaire Elementary (one entering 4th and one entering K). Bonaire is one of the highest ranked elementary schools in the entire state. The entire staff is outstanding. My wife and couldnt be more pleased with the teachers we have worked with. Our children love it and

This school has been good for both of my children as they are taught by involved teachers. There is one oddity that several of us parents wonder about. The kids are punished for misbehavior by losing recess. I'm not an educator, but I am a mom and busy, distracted children might find walking around

His wonderful leadership is evident in the staff who surrounds him....they are very friendly and always willing to help. Mrs. Arnett and Mrs. Nicely in the front office are always on top of things and greet every visitor with a smile. My 2nd & 5th graders started BES fall 2006. My son, with an IEP, was met with full support. His writting skills went from unreadable to neat and complete sentences thanks to Mrs. B. Mrs. J, his special education teacher, is very proactive. The teachers make learning exciting with reading counts and

Advanced Placement
