... Read more Academics are stressed and taught in unique ways. The teachers, staff, and parents all work together to ensure each and every child is exposed to a well rounded environment. Mind and Body is addressed at Atlanta New Century via wholesome lunches, an active environment - to address the children who need movement- and quiet time-for the children who need less movement - which also allows the active children to calm down. I love Atlanta New Century School. I am a new parent and work and live in the downtown Atlanta area. It is convenient and the quality of education is by far beyond the city standards for children ages 3-12. The school offers daily Spanish along with alternating schedules for Music, Art and Technology.

My daughter attended ANCS for several years, and is now at a high performing public school. I can tell you that ANCS, more than adequately prepared her. In the 2nd grade, she is reading (and comprehending) well beyond her grade level. While I don t think math will be her first love, she effectively
... Read more understands the context of multiplication and division. If it were not for the administrative mess that ANCS had previously and the uncertainty of its future, we would still be there. That said, ANCS was phenomenal academically, the teachers were amazing, and the family environment was an added benefit. The school reminds our family of that famous movie 'Carpe Diem' and it's meaning 'Seize the day'. My son is a new student at ANCS as of August 2009 and I love this school. He is learning, having fun and the teachers are fantastic - Ms. Anderson is awesome. ANCS is the kind of school you register your kids at if you want them to question everything and not take what they hear at face value, be exposed to as much learning as possible through field trips, guest speakers and exposure to the arts. It is the kind of school that expects the whole family to pitch

Oh yeah and in return for getting well rounded students who are academically strong, you get the gift of a very competitive tuition. This is why we chose ANCS and why we continue to stay. ANCS is a great value. The student-teacher ratios are half that of public schools and the tuition is much less than other private schools. ANCS has a very nurturing environment while also providing a challenging, well-rounded curriculum.

AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
