Cedar Shoals is sorely lacking in the academic and enrichment that is desirable in a high school. Students who excel are taken for granted and exploited. Teachers take advantage of the fact that the good students will work hard and do nothing to encourage and help them. I am disgusted by this school

To the parents that have the audacity to say such things about Cedar Shoals, I will just have you know that I have plenty of friends whom have came from private schools and I work with a student from Oconee and they are just as worse as Cedar Shoals; those students are no better than Cedar's students

You need to get your facts straight!!! And whether or not a teacher is a good teacher, it is dependent upon the student as to whether or not they are going to buckle down, stop socializing, and do what they have to do! The thing about Cedar is yes, when we went there it was a good school, we had nice teachers, and the safety was ok.

The turnover rate for teachers is awful, the pricipal this year isn't getting picked up again, and the rest of the administration has issues. They have been nothing but rude to my family and myself (when I go visit) and it has nothing to do with 'the safety of the students'. If you had to choose between Cedar and Central, send your kids to Oconee. Read less

The ONLY redeeming quality of Cedar Shoals is that the school offers several AP courses and the opportunity to participate in joint-enrollment with UGA. There are a couple of excellent and dedicated teachers but for the most part the quality of the education is mediocre to poor. The block system is problematic

There is a very high turnover rate of teachers, counselors and administrators and the degree of 'accountability' on the part of many is lacking. The current principal has managed to alienate many students and parents with his narrowminded outlook. Read less

Academics are great for the area. Nowhere else has as much AP Physics etc. Sports, Drama and JROTC are wonderful. There's great diversity there and alot kids can learn in most areas. Social issues are a little tough as with alot of schools. Overall we've been happy with it for both kids.
