Oldsmar Christian School

Lowry is a great school. The importance of elementary school can’t be measured. With one primary teacher and the life setting goals it’s so important to get the right fit with that one teacher. They can change a child’s life by keeping them excited for the upcoming years and teaching the fundamentals. I have not experienced a teacher at Lowery not able to accomplish this goal. I highly recommend Lowry Elementary School.

Used to be a decent school when Dr. Moss was there. The new principal came from private school and it shows. Has no respect for the ESE kids, if you push back she will send you packing. A lot of the teachers here are just buying time until retirement. Only a handful of teachers TRULY care and most of them are in the ESE team. HUGE issue with bullying!! Talked to multiple parents who have switched their kids out of Oldsmar due to the bullying problem.

My kids have been very happy at this school. The teachers really care about the students and their success. We feel comfortable with the measures they have taken during the pandemic. We have had no instances of bullying with my two kids. I feel that communication with parents could be improved upon. It would be nice to see like a weekly flyer or something letting us know what the kids are working on.

My child has been a student at ESCS for 3 years. Although we have been dealing with Covid-19 for 2 years so far, the school has done a tremendous job in terms of its leadership, communication, and daily approach to educating its students while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. The school has a gifted program and offers a number of extracurricular activities for the artistic, academic, and athletic interests of its students. My husband was thoroughly impressed by their approach to technology including discussing social media and internet safety from a young age with students to help them navigate the challenges they may be faced with in a real world setting. The teachers and administration all know my daughter by name, are always willing to help, and are trained in responsive classroom management, which during these times, is truly a blessing. Lastly, ESCS is a Catholic School and imbues the principles of the Catholic faith into how students interact with each other and the greater community. Each time I volunteer or work with the school community, I find that everyone comes with a purpose to lift each other and support our school and community.

Initially I really loved this school. The community is fantastic and I enjoyed all of the parental involvement. Year 2 here and we are struggling with a lot of bullying amongst the children. They don’t have an effective plan to handle bullying except basic concepts that are really ineffective in changing behavior. I’ve also been concerned about the quality of teaching now as well. The qualifications for teachers is not regulated. My child does the same worksheets every week and states he’s bored because he already learned how to do that already. I feel like they aren’t addressing individual children’s growth and tailoring their learning to that. His scores have shown he has not improved since the beginning of the school year, he has remained stagnant in learning even though he is above average. Overall, I think the school is average and I’m just concerned it’s not at a private school level.
