Many of the previous good reviews were written with a different headmaster who has now left. The administration is extremely weak and teaching satisfactory but certainly not great, and the curriculum had to be changed due to oversights by the admin staff about the lack of core subjects being taught

Resources are all to be provided by parents and the comment that the school embraces technology when they dont have computerised teaching screens is beyond me. Windermere Prep is the best private school in central florida. I have 3 children at the school that used to be a lake highland. WPS goes the extra mile and the administration is great, they listen to the parents and students. The dean of students , Mr. Stone, and the middle school director, Mrs Davies,

This is our third year at WPS and we couldn't be happier with the school. The class sizes are kept small so each child receives the individualized attention they need. All of the staff are friendly and caring. We are very lucky to be a part of such a wonderful school.

Ah-mazing school, I've had children at this school for three years now the first two years were a little bit rocky but ever since we got our new high school principal things have been going great. Our daughter is in grade 9 at WPS and we love it here. The high school principal is amazing, truly cares for the children and listens to the parents. He has really turned the high school around. The IB will only make the curriculum better. There are some problems with students making their own little
... Read more groups, but what high school does not have this problem? I have seen this get better as the year has progressed and issues are dealt with immediately. We are not very happy with the science teachers, but even this is being addressed. Beautiful campus, great sports facilities, and a wonderful atmosphere. We certainly are getting our money worth. Apparently people either love this school or hate it. Like any institution, there is the good and not so good. On balance, this is a good school getting better. With the completion this summer of the physical high school building the campus will finally have proper facilities for each grade level.
... Read more One can argue the merits of Meritas purchasing WP but the investment has accelerated the completion of the campus facilities as one benefit. The complaints about student cliques have some truth to them. However, my daughter has found acceptance and friends here despite our not being a part of the Windermere social scene. In her first year she was elected to the student council and Meritas sent the student council from each of their nine or ten schools to Geneva for a week long conference at their Switzerland campus. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
