This school would be a better elementary school rather than what it is now which is a K-8 school. Bad choices have been made throughout the middle school which is sending it in a slow downward spiral that has been happening for quite a few years now.

I started in the middle school this year at Poinciana and I am so glad. I feel like I am learning so much more than I did at my old school , and I've made some great friends. I recommend this school to anyone who wants to have a great middle school experience!

Sad to say, I think this school peaked a few years ago. The quality has not kept pace with the price increases. Pros: Small classes, safe environment. Cons: Too many longtime teachers and staff whose work seems to have stagnated. Not open to new ideas. Limited physical facilities.

... Read more not only was able to take advanced academic programs, but also had the opprotunity to play the piano, viola and world percussion instruments. The arts program is fabulous. The teachers care about their students and give them personal direction and assistance. After being at Poinciana, you wonder why all schools don't teach like they do. I graduated from Poinciana Day School two years ago. I loved attending Poinciana - the teachers were very helpful and caring and it was like one big family. I learned a lot and was able to take 5 high school courses while still in middle school. The middle school overnight field trips were awesome
... Read more - Pathfinder was the best! With small class sizes, we were all very close - and still are today. The arts programs - visual, performing, musical instruments - piano, strings, percussion, and technology are great. They are helping me in my quest to become a graphic design artist. My daughter spent Pre-K - 8 at Poinciana Day School and she was continually challenged yet reaffirmed in her abilities. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
