IDS excels in areas that other schools gloss over and which are so important to parents. The teachers and administration treat the families as important customers, and strive to communicate often and well. Problems will arise, as in any school, but at IDS that truly make you feel as though your opinion

IDS's strength lies in two areas: superb leadership at the top and amazing teacher training. I have never experienced a more engaged teacher community. You truly feel like part of a family. Children are quizzed prior to starting a new unit, then if your child has a higher level of understanding in that area, he or she will be moved to the advanced section for that one subject and unit. Therefore, children are not labeled as 'gifted' or 'not gifted' but are moved between those areas as is appropriate. Children are actually taught at the level they can understand. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.

English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
