the program for the arts is phenominal, with exelent teacher quality. The principals have been unstable however, and much of the school general population is undesirable. The Fine Arts strand offers top quality education in all fine arts, including dance, drama and vocal. Mr. Butts is bombdidggitylicios.

Magnet Program is great! They keep the children in their own areas away from the regular students. Teachers are very helpful. Too bad the new principal is already leaving!! He has made a difference.

John Hopkins Middle School is amazing necause it gives kids the opportunity to explore the arts through dance, drama, art, and music. All schools have there flaws (gang fights, food fights, etc.) but John Hopkins is overall a great school.

We have been very pleased with J. Hop. My children started at Bay Point Elementary a Math and Science Magnet School. We thought it would be good for them to shift focus to a school that had more emphasis on the arts. We have not been disappointed. They continued to be challanged in Math but were able ...  Read more

My daughter is attending JHOP and we are pleased beyond belief. She moved from a private school to JHOP in 6th grade and we were worried that public school's standards would be lower and that she would 'get lost in the system'. We have had great communication with all of her teachers and she has ...  Read more

My son loved JHOP. He is a sophmore now and some things have changed. My daughter will be going there in the fall. I am a little concerned that the academics and the arts have changed for the worse. Hopeful for the future!!!

I went to JHOP last year and it was an amazing three years. I had soo much fun...most of the teachers were really nice and smart and i learned a whole lot from them. I definetly reccomend the school though because i never had any problems at all and i will never forget JHOP. GO TROJANS!!!

I was extremely disappointed in this school. My child is on an IEP and I always had to initiate the meetings. Nothing was resolved. In the IEP meeting it was established that the teachers were to email me if there were any problems but I only received one email. My child was failing at one point and ...  Read more
