Charlotte is a D-school for being Destroyed by Hurricane Charley still being rebuilt after five and a half years.. Everything is great here, from sports to academics.

This is a 'D' school anyway you slice it up. There are lots of excuses and made about the numbers, but the fact of the matter is a D is a D. Port Charlotte is an 'A' school for the past two years. They achieved this for a reason. Charlotte's school culture is much more oriented towards athletics. Don't ...  Read more

A students wins a rare scholarship in florida (or thee are scholarship oppurunities) and ...  Read more

Some of the teachers here think that if you teach the students they will just forget what they are taught anyway and refuse to teach students traditionally. Instead they tell the students to teach themselves by giving them a list of things to do with no guidence and expect them to turn in superior work. ...  Read more

Respond to post April 26, the only reason that it seems athletics are taking the front seat in rebuilding the school is because there is room for the facilities. It is important to the school to keep the buildings that they can, which is making it difficult for rebuilding, but will preserve the history ...  Read more

I think Charlotte is a very good school. My son attends. He is getting the opportunity to get ahead in his studies for his career. Not all schools have classes for them to attend during high school that give them the head start for their college career. I'm glad my son is getting such a great opportunity.
