Port Orange Elementary is run like a precision swiss clock thanks to Principal Ronca. There will be a new principal this year, so it remains to be seen what happens. Very nice,, small school. This school has excellent teachers and staff with a small school atmosphere. Gifted program is good. Reccommended.

My kids attended S. Daytona for a few years before we switched to Port Orange Elem. this year and there is a noticeable difference. This school offered a smaller classroom size, fewer classes per grade (so all the kids in the same grade get to know each other better)and a closer knit family environment. ...  Read more

This is a small school that has a great 'family' environment. Low teacher turnover. Excellent gifted program. I'm impressed with the parental involvement.

* In 2008-2009 Florida used the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) to test students in grades 3 through 10 in reading and math; in grades 4, 8 and 10 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 11 in science.
