My daughter attends this school and her teacher is GREAT! The down side to the school is the lack of proper communication regarding changes and properly educating parents of new kids entering the school of security/safety features in place among other things. My son's first year was last year as a kindergartener and he did wonderful. I was kind of upset when Ms Dunaway [left]2 or 3 months before the school year ended, it was tramatic for my son, as well as others. He is certainly missed and was loved. My son was in Kindergarten last year and loved this school. The student-teacher ratio was good. He has a speech problem and he improved a lot during the year from his speech therapy. * In 2006-2007 Florida used the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) to test students in grades 3 through 10 in reading and math and in grades 5, 8 and 11 in science. The FCAT Writing+ test replaced the former FCAT writing test given in grades 4, 8 and 10. The FCAT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Florida. The FCAT has 5 achievement levels, with level 1 being the lowest and level 5 the highest. Florida considers scores of level 3 and higher to be on or above grade level. The goal is for all students to score at or above level 3.
