I have had to lie on worksheets and tests to maintain an 'A' or even a 'B' average. They look down upon those who 'doubt' and 'have questions'. I am a graduate of LCS and an thrilled that my children are receiving a quality education at LCS. They are taught by teachers who love and pray for them everyday, they are taught the scriptures daily and acadmeically are testing well above national scores. They are taking computers, arts, and languages

... Read more overwhelming dominance in theological opinion. Not much creative freedom is given for expression or writing. You will earn a bad grade for opining in the 'wrong' direction. Rules are great - the more strict the better - but domination of thought is another thing. There are a lot of good kids that would otherwise flourish, that may feel stifled in this environment. LCS provides our children a safe learning environment mixed with high-quality academics and tons of enrichment. Our children love being able to pray in school and rave about chapel every week! Both of our children are involved in music and sports programs as well as academic challenges such as Odyssey
... Read more of the Mind and Math Olympics. What a joy to walk through the campus and see the high schoolers interacting positively with the younger elementary children. I would rate Academic program quality at LCS very good. Parental involvement level is very high as you would expect from a Christian private school of this type. LCS is large for a a K-12 Christian school, about 900 students, and has a good selection of arts and music programs. Sports is important
... Read more at LCS with soccer, basketball, baseball, swimming, track, golf, etc. Football has recently been added 'due to popular demand!' The real emphasis at LCS, though is on the spiritual dimension. Christianity is central not only to Bible courses but at every level and in every course. A real advantage is the fact that the school is not tied to a specific church but was started and is run by a board of directors composed of local Christian businessmen. Read less

Lakeland Christian is a great environment for your child to grow up in. I have found all the parents and teachers to be caring individuals who welcome students and other parents with open arms. LCS is very athletic oriented. Academics are good, but more emphasis is put on athletics. My child is more academic oriented and also more involved in the arts,(drama,etc.) This school did not meet my child's needs. My child withdrew after attending for one and a half years.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
