10 Parent Reviews for Blake Academy

So not true! The teachers are very helpful to 'willing' parents. And the principal does everything for those kids. I have talked to her regarding 2 problems and she is overboard with willingness to help resolve the situation. It is your job to raise your child and maybe you have failed, not Blake Academy.

we love this school! our daughter has gone to blake since kindergarten & will be a student there as long as our family lives in polk county! this school seems so out of place in polk county, i feel lucky to have my daughter attend blake & my sons will be students there when they go into kindergarten.

My child feels inadequate at school and teachers have not helped to come up with plan to help my child adjust. On many occasions I have made attempts to become involved and be active in a solution. Also I have experienced a snubbing attitude from the principle and some staff. Making it difficult to continue ...  Read more

We have been in several area schools both private and public. My son is a middle-schooler at Blake and I really like the community created by his grade-level teachers. They function as a team and they help the kids to feel connected to learning and to the school. He is involved in band and is taking ...  Read more

After 4 years and multiple children at Blake, I can say the following: pros: band, cons: poor leadership, about 1/4 of the staff are teachers in their first or second year teaching, high turnover rate of teachers, horrible time management for parents at school events

I'm very impressed by the responsiveness of the staff. They've been readily available to answer all questions and are quite proud of their lovely school. I'm excited that my child will have the opportunity to start band in 3rd grade and will be able to experience 'hands-on' academics. This is definitely ...  Read more

I love this school. I love that my kids will know the same teachers and routines for the next 7-8 years. They will have the opportunity to join the band at a young age and know the same kids. They will learn to have structure and someone they can find year after year to talk and confide in. I recommend ...  Read more

Rodabelle W. Blake Academy is a great school. I had just graduated from there last year. Everyone I know misses it! The teachers there a re very nice and open for your children. So is the staff. I can't think of anything why a student would'nt want to be there. At first I thought never do i want to go ...  Read more

We LOVE this school!! They care about the kids and make learning fun. Blake is all about 'hands on'. I always see the kids smiling and laughing and my kids actually WANT to go to school!

My son just started Rosabelle W. Blake Academy this year(2005), and I am very impressed. The teachers and staff challenge the students and keep them busy and interested in learning. When my son comes home from school now, his attitude is cheerful and happy, compared to last year at his previous school ...  Read more
