In the three years our daughter has been at Millhopper Montessori school she has received individualized education (small group learning), many experiential learning opportunities, and less busy work and computer testing than at her previous private school. I disagree. The Millhopper Montessori School compared to public school is teaching 2 to 4 grade level above. The teachers have a long track record at the school and I think the school is serving as an amazing educational opportunity for children. Very worth the money spent.

We were disappointed with the school. I took my 2yo out. The environment was cold and too strict for kids at such a young age. I found the teachers to be stern and unfriendly, really didn't know how to interact w/ young children.

Most private schools in Gainesville are a waste of money. The teachers are underpaid and undereducated, they are no good. The admin puts the teachers first, so the admin is no good. The kids and parents end up losing and te whole community. Go to public.

Millhopper offers one of the worst examples of private schooling as per our experience with our 2 kids. Their main concern is tuition and teachers... their last, is unfortunately the students and their parents. They are not cooperative with the smallest of issues.

Our daughter has attended MMS for three years. As a kindergardener, she can add, subtract, multiply and is learning to divide. She reads at a 3rd grade level and can converse on any number of topics. ... Read more with this school are parents who have kids who can't or don't perform. The school has taught us that children are little sponges and the more you expose them to the more they learn. If you're not willing to invest the time in your child's education, this isn't the school for you. But if you are dedicated to being involved in your child's development, I can't think of a better school. Parent involvment is superb and that's one of the reasons that my wife and I like it so much. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
