As an FHS parent I found both good and bad. The good was that the kids are very accepting of one another. The teachers for the most part are good and care about the kids. I believe that the new principal for the 2008-2009 should not have replaced Mr. Murphy, the previous principal. Through Murphy's hard work and incentives that he gave the students, Freeport High became an 'A' School. How can you beat that?!?!? -Alumni

This school is in much need of an improvment in the fcat department and also the science teachers should not be coaches.

Three of our sons have attended this high school. I was underwhelmed by the effort made to help our physically disabled student who was completely ignored when it came to activities or honors that he could have participated in. The level of parent envolvement at freeport high school is slim to none. The school is mostly about football. Most of the teachers favor people who are either a sports player or someone who is of higher class. The teachers pick and choose who they want to take it easy on. The new principal is good. I am a sophomore at FHS. The ratings given by the state tell very little about this school. FHS has the highest rate of dual enrollment students in it's district. * In 2008-2009 Florida used the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) to test students in grades 3 through 10 in reading and math; in grades 4, 8 and 10 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 11 in science.
