My daughter has been in this school since the middle of the year of Kindergarten, and she will be going into thrid grade as of 2008-2009 school year. I was extreamly impressed with the school then, and with the principal (mrs. Cuningham) at the time, as it was an A school, had careing teachers, small

I've met and spokent o him several times, and not once has he remebered who i am, where as the former principal remembered me after meeting her only once. after seeing the test scores now I feel even more disapointed. its time to transfer to Eustis Elementary. If I could give this school no stars, believe me, I would!! My child began attending this school and within one day...I am done! I have begun the process of extracting him from EHES. The children are cruel and run the halls like wild boars. They taunt children different from themselves and the adults

I am absolutely appalled at the lack of discipline and manors displayed here. Eustis Heights Elementary School has been a godsend for my child. He tested gifted in the 1st grade and we moved him from another local school in the area to the gifted program at Eustis Heights. On the first day of school at EHES, he said he felt 'free'. He no longer was stuck in a classroom where

Leadership at this school is among the worst I have seen as a teacher. Students are generally misbehaved and are allowed to run wild in the halls. This is an awful place to work and an intimidating atmosphere for students.

My children have attended this school for 7 years, and with regards to the kids and her involvement, the principal is the best I have seen. She is top-notch. She is motivated. My concerns have all been with the teachers. So many of them actually yell at the kids and undermine their (the kids') effectiveness
... Read more by making the kids feel bad about themselves--and making them feel like they did not want to be there. I removed one of my kids and put them in private school, because my child (a sensitive child) had become depressed due to this very thing. She thrived at the new school. She went from a teacher that was belittling and yelling at the kids to one who was affirmative and positive. The following year she went back to E.H.E.S.--to a new teacher--with positive results. ***Some of Eustis Heights teachers are awesome, too. Let me not be remiss in mentioning that point. Sadly, some of these excellent teachers, like Ms. Hines and Ms. Brunolds, have left the school. Also, its after-school reading program affected major and wonderful changes with one of my youths. The people involved in that should be commended. This program had the effect of not only teaching my daughter to read well, but the additional bonus of making her want to go to school again. This program is praiseworthy and well worth mentioning. Two years later and she still begs me to schedule appointments outside of school hours; she wants to be in school [and she is an honor student]. A major swing/change seemed to occur this year at Eustis Heights, as well. Instead of emphasis on making good choices [1.) Stop, think, make a good choice. 2.) What are my choices? 3.) Good choice or bad choice? 4.) Do it. 5.) Good job.], the emphasis swung to FCAT FCAT FCAT. We all know why this occurred; however, by implicating making good choices, I believe, made the kids want to do well and formed an accountability amongst the kids themselves to do well. It ingrained in them the philosophy of doing what is right . In the end, I would rather my kids did what was right over doing 'well'. Read less
