10 Parent Reviews for West Hernando Middle School

My son is doing fantastic at this school and he enjoys all of the tachers and fellow students. This school gives students P.E. everyday, no school uniforms, and the outdoor Aviary they have is so nice. My son is an 'A' student and in 'AP' Math and LA/Reading classes. I was concerned that he would ...  Read more

My daughter has gone through middle school here and it has been an absolutely positive experience for us. The administration is very responsive to parents' concerns and I had no problems with my child's teachers or the course content. Her academic teachers as well as extra curricular teachers were ...  Read more

Used to be technology person at this school. Dedicated, innovative faculty and administration who take a personal interest in each student. I would send my kids there. Great folks to work with - Teachers are not there for the money- pay and benefits in Florida schools are awful, but faculty at WHMS ...  Read more

My son will be entering 8th grade this fall at WHMS and I have nothing but praise for this school, teachers, and principals. They offer a wide variety of classes and reward good behavior and grades with kayaking trips that he really loves. They have an aviary on the grounds that the students are responsible ...  Read more

Very disappointed in this school. Having 5 children from college down to elementary school this was the most disappointing school I have ever dealt with. There are more poor teachers just there for a paycheck then teachers who care. I have waited 3 weeks for a teacher to return a phone call and some ...  Read more

My daughter is in her 8th grade year at WHMS, we will be so sad to see her leave. What a great learning experience, and not just in the classroom. There are a lot of handicapped students here, and to see them mixing easily with the regular ed students can really warm your heart. I was terrified when ...  Read more

A++ SCHOOL!! For parents w/ IEP students, no school is better than West Hernando. After years of generic goals on IEPs and some violence at DS Parrott, we enrolled our daughter at West. She improved three grade levels in one year under Mrs. Davis/Mrs. Brown. We worked together focusing on her strengths ...  Read more

My daughter has attended WHMS since 6th grade. I find it to be a fantastic school. The teachers contacted me immediately when they saw my daughters grades falling so quickly throughout the marking period. At the school's suggestion, my husband and I sat around a table with ALL of her teachers to get ...  Read more

Very disapointed in this school. They have poor conflict resolution and seem to adhere to double standards. My childs IEP is routinely overlooked. He does have a few good teachers but they are overwhelmed with approx. 34 students in the classroom. I will seriously look elsewhere for educational instruction.

Our son is a 7th grader, he has had very positive experiences at W.H.M.S. for the 2nd year now, the enviroment is very calming, yet very exciting for the students, He has several teachers that are so outstanding, one being his football coach, who goes way above the call of duty every single day on that ...  Read more
