The facilities could be improved but, that is secondary to the rewards we have reaped. The Hero's Journey is key to the school's direction. If we weren't thrilled with South Kent School, we would never have sent our second son. South Kent is more than a school, it is a community. Our boys have flourished in this environment with small classes, outstanding faculty and academics. The boys are given the opportunity to think out of the box

It's too bad South Kent has lost its way as a school. When I attended for three years its strength was its small size and focus on the whole student. Now it's focused on jocks (they probably call them high-level student athletes) and Asian students who pay more than full-tuition and subsidize the recruited

Unless there is a change in the current leadership, I don't see any hope for my alma mater. The school which prepared me well is in a slow, desperate death spiral.... sad. Read less

We were very disappointed with this school. The level of teacher involvement is poor. The emphasis on athletics outweighs the emphasis on academics and the kids are left floundering. The administration is weak.

Well my son has been attending for two years now. it is an extraordinary place where potential is realized by the students. Everyone is involved, and because the faculty and their families live at the school, there is a tremendous feeling that these teachers would not want to be doing anything else
... Read more but what they do at South Kent. My son was on the honor roll last year, and school has always been a struggle for him. The effort is more important than the grade. All students do chores, there is mandatory study period each night from 8-9:45PM, and the structure, routine, caring and consequences has made my son mature and be responsible. AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
