I'm going to be a sophomore, and I say this school is generally a very good one, although they couldn't do worse by entering assignments into the internet based progress tracker before students get home...a day after the assignment is given.

I go to this school and i think NBHS prepares you for real life. Counselors do meet students, and you can check your progress online as well. Extracurricular is amazing in this school, providing clubs of all need. Security is better than ever, and in a school so big, you do need that much security. there

There are parent association to join such as the PMA. in band parents help, and we call them the band mom's and dads. NBHS prepares you for life out of high school because believe or not parents your students college professor wont always tell them what they need to do, neither will their boss, they have to learn how to do things themselves. NBHS is awesome! and so are teachers. Read less

Parents are not encouraged to participate. Upon entering the school there is an imediate security detail. More like going to the court house than visiting a school. Retention of students is terrible and guidance and faculty don't try to meet families and students needs half way. It is an eat or get eaten

The teachers at New Britain High School work really hard in ensuring that each student recieves the best education possible. The principals leadership is excellent, and the extracurricular activities are amazing. The only thing wrong with this school is the lack of parent involvement and that it is overcrowded.

NBHS is a horrible school. I am a junior there, and for the two completed years I have been there, there has not been one pleasant experience. The hallways are always overcrowded, but teachers still continuously hand out detentions. It's not our fault theres too many kids, and we cant make it to class

New Britain High School is definately a good school but I believe they go about everything all wrong. For one thing its more like a prison than a school. They always say that they want us to act like adults but for some reason they do nothing but treat us like kids. Grantid half the kids in that school

In a way it makes you feel safe, but at the same time most of the teachers never listen to anything you have to say. They deal with so many troublemakers that they don't take the time to see the good in anyone else and I feel that this is the schools biggest flaw. Other than that I have definately enjoyed my 4 years there, and i know that i've learned more about the real world there. Read less

I like NBHS, but there are some ridiculous policies in place, and they change at random. I think that having an ID is annoying, and none of the teachers check them. When you are caught without one, you get a 2-hour detension. Then there is the 'Red and Gold House' system. I have never heard of anything

In the beginng of this year, we had a student added to my history class, and there weren't enough desks! Then there was the midterm schedule. It was clear they had no idea what they were doing.
