DHS is a great school, but like many things in life, the more you put in, the more you will take out. There are excellent teachers and classes and caring administrators, but you need to be involved in your own education. Both of my children graduated from DHS and are doing really well. One has a PhD

I would guess that the top students at DHS would do just fine when competing against the top students from any area high school and the diversity is a wonderful bonus. Read less

I am a former student of Danbury High School! I am very proud to say that I made it through Danbury High School not because I made it through without falling through the cracls and because I never got in trouble but because DHS is one of the most amazing high school in CT! It's size and diversity can

Many people say that DHS is not a safe place but I assure you that if you don't look for trouble, trouble will never find you! Also, many paople say that the curriculum is not very challenging. I believe tht the curriculum is very challenging and it just depends on the drive the student. I would recommend DHS to anyone looking good change in their education. Read less

I'm a senior at DHS and I have always felt safe here. To parents worried about there being 'fights everyday' your child would have to be in the wrong place at the wrong time ALL THE TIME. I would be lying if I claimed I'd never seen a fight there, but certainly not everyday, at least not physical ones.

My teachers have never left my e-mails unanswered so chances are if your not getting a response you've entered the wrong e-mail address. It is crowded and may seem chaotic but if you've stepped inside for 10 minutes+ I doubt you've felt unwelcome or nervous. Its diversity makes it great and its unlikely you wont find someone similar to you. Read less

Parents that academically don't find their children challenged either have a genius on hand or a student who is not taking the higher level classes they should be. Another complaint I read dealt with the cleanliness of the school. I'm not quite sure if we attend the same school; the DHS I walk through

I've never had an issue with any of my teachers; they ve all been very helpful when I needed assistance. Academically, you will find an expected disparity in teaching methods. Some teachers will hold your hand through the class, others will leave it up to you. Overall, it works and the teaching is effective if you're open to it and interested in learning. With that said, I firmly recommend Danbury High School to anyone considering it for his or her child. Read less

We were only at DHS for 1 semester and the best choice we ever made was moving out of Danbury. My child reported seeing fights everyday while attending this school. Danbury High School is an overall great school. From the beginning of my freshmen year I felt like I belonged there. The academic programs are great, they give more opportunities than other schools. The range of classes offered is countless from computers, business, art, science, history, etc, however DHS lacks the concentration needed to propel students for college. A good number of the classes are meant to diversify, but do not effectively instruct the student for related majors later on in college.
