I have been a student at CCS for 8 years, and over that 8 years i have watched the student body, administration, and educational standard drop to what you would expect from a mapleton district school. The harbinger of what was to come was the departure of administrator Scott Bruns in 2005. Since then,

Student funding is poor, science and art labs have practically no budget whatsoever, and teachers are very bias as to who they truely help in the classroom. I am strongly disappointed in the school, and am very pessimistic about the future prospects this school has in store for itself Read less

I am a parent who highly recommends Community Christian. The teachers care for their students, and want their students to do well not only in their academics. CCS is a wonderful place to have your children educated in a loving Christ-centered environment. It has good academics and the children have an excellent opportunity to compete in the sports program. Terrible. This school is terrible. The education is way below par. Why do I say this? Most of the teachers do not actually teach. Rather, they read the directions for the assignment a loud and then proceed to go sit at their desks for the remainder of the period. They spend too much time getting distracted

We have had children in CCS for 9 years. We've loved it from the start because of the caring teachers, the family atmosphere and the good families we have made friends with. We feel that the school has improved with each year, especially at the high school level which was so new when we first came.

We had 3 children graduate from CCS. I would recommend it for its Christ-centered curriculum, teachers who love God and care about the students, and smaller class sizes.

Decent school for the *average* student. Nothing outstanding in either cirriculum or activities (clubs, etc. ) aside from multiple sport options. No science lab and most classes are quite large. Not much in terms of college-prep (researching colleges/scholarships) or classes for the advanced student.

I have been involved with this school for close to 20 years now. I attended CCS from Kindergarten to 12th grade and was the second graduating class ever. After reading some of these other reviews I was disappointed to see so many negative comments. This school has come a long way since I was attending.

John has taken on a huge roll and has great visions for the growth and well being of the students, faculty, and school in general. Even after teaching here for 3 yrs and attending the school for 13yrs, I would highly reccomend this school to anyone. I will not be back next year, but this school has and always will hold a special place in my heart and I will say nothing but positive words towards it. Thanks CCS for all you've done! Read less

After almost a decade of having children attend CCS, our very involved family is now looking for an alternative. Two years ago, a new principal was hired, and much to our dismay, he is not an effective leader. Under his leadership, class size has grown to unacceptable levels (30+ children) , curriculum

Read more changes have been made without review, ineffective newly-hired teachers have had their contracts renewed, and elective-type classes, like art, are not offered as often because of increased class sizes. Although it is the goal of the principal to grow the school, the quality of education is severely suffering. Most importantly, however, is the fact that the new principal is unapproachable, lacks people skills, and often will not give straight-forward answers. Two years ago, our family would have recommended the school to everyone! We loved it! Now, however, we find ourselves leaving at the end of this school year. Sad. Read less

We transferred here less than a year ago because we heard such great things about the curriculum. And forget any type of communication - we couldn't tell you how many times we found out about school events and opportunities at the 11th hour.
