... Read more Grade. This is an extremely impressive modern teaching environment. Our son is now one of the best at reading and math in his class, but is still able to be challenged by the structure of the program. The volunteer opportunities in the classroom from Kindergarten through 1st grade have given us an excellent view into what the 'norm' is, and a good assessment as to how he rates to the other kids in his class. security at the school seems to low? Considering the news we see daily and unfortunately the world we now live has changed so much. I find it very easy to enter the school lobby since I do pickup my daughter every Friday I notice people enter easily with no badges etc. Would it be to expensive to issue

Security is much better than last year. Security doors have been installed and parents need to buzz the office just to get access to the building. All visitors are required to sign in and wear a visitors badge. My child has told me of lock down drills and walkie talkies carried by staff members. I've

Wow, how can anyone rate a school after having their child in there for only 2 months. From experience, private schools tell parents what they want to hear to keep their children there, a la tuition money. The Barton Spelling program they use is superior to any other in teaching reading and spelling

This school is superior in many aspects and I feel I am given opportunity to participate anywhere needed. My child recieves PE, music, technology, counciling, library education at least an hour a week and am thrilled at what is brought home. My child is keyboarding in first grade and another is learing PowerPoint in 2nd. Grace Best is best! Read less

Ok, at the risk of offending someone I am going to give an honest review of Grace Best. I made every effort to be involved and even offered to take the Title one course so I could be a resourse to the teacher. I made several attempts at getting her to provide me with the necessary information to take
... Read more the course but never received a response. I pulled my son out of Grace best after only a couple of months of First Grade and put him in a Private school. His scores now place him at 3rd Grade level on all of his subjects except reading. I was very dissapointed in the approach the teacher take, as well as how many days off each school year they take off. I also find the scores seem curiously high for this school as well as they are above the nation on enrollment. Read less

It has been one year since we moved and I would like to say Grace Best Elementary has quality academic programs, especially the Every Day Math Program. My children faired very well in their new school in the Math area. I honestly feel using the Spelling Program in our new school has helped them tremendously
... Read more and I was disappointed in the Grace Best Spelling Program. The Specials are incredible at Grace Best. I believe it is one of a kind, PE, MUSIC, COUNSELOR, ART. The staff are excellent and the extracurricular activities. Parent involvement is unbelievable and a great opporutnity to be involved in the classroom and out of the classroom (PTO). We had 3 great years at Grace Best. Many friendships and fun times. There has been a principal change this year 2005-06 so we cannot say for the future, but for the past years, Grace Best was excellent. Read less

The academics at Grace Best elementary are great. The children receive music, pe and art weekly & the teachers in charge of these programs are superior. There is a very high level of parental involvement as well.

Advanced Placement
