I love RCS (a public, tuition-free, K-12 charter school) because of the high level of standards the school holds for themselves, their students and their teachers. RCS students don't only learn skill, they learn knowledge. They talk about the morality of man, they have pillars of character conduct

My 4 students are learning things that, until now, I had only hoped they'd ever learn. They begin learning a foreign language in kindergarten, Greek & Latin roots in 4th grade and a full Latin program in 6th grade. US News & World Report ranked RCS High School as the 4th best in the nation. Ridgeview has been written about in books about education reform and has been called 'the standard' by which all other schools should aim for. E.D. Hirsch, founder of the Core Knowledge Curriculum, has written a new book called 'The Making of Americans: Democracy and Our Schools'. In it, Hirsch lists schools that narrow the competence and equality gaps in America. The first one listed is Ridgeview Classical Schools! After the chapter subtitle Looking for a school? How about this one? , Hirsch writes that Ridgeview s success stands as a sharp rebuke to the dominant anti-intellectual pedagogy of most American schools. My husband and I absolutely LOVE Ridgeview and are so proud that our children are Hoplites! Read less

The teachers and faculty truly care about the students and this is displayed during graduation. During graduation it was evident that the teachers loved us as their family when a person watching saw as many tears on their faces as there were on students faces. Ridgeview is a family with great academics.

I graduated with 38 other students and EVERY one of us is different and I can tell you how different they are because of the size of the class. We all wrote a Senior Thesis which is a 20 page paper saying what WE believe. We were graded on how we defended it not on the topic. I have a very bright future because of Ridgeview and so will my 4 siblings that still attend. Read less

This is the best school I have seen. k-8 is taught based on the Core knowledge program. The high school is based on a classical education. All of it is wrapped in good character. I think one of the most impressive things I have seen is how the kids who come in 'disadvantaged' catch up. It is a public

There is no 'testing' to get into this school. I have an high level autistic child that we enrolled in and it has done wonders for him. The classrooms are controlled and teachers don't have to deal with discipline issues. All schools should look to this model. Read less

I am in my 3rd year at Ridgeview and absolutely love it! The classes are challenging, and the teachers are constantly helping us improve. I have learned so much about myself during my time here. My daughter is in 11th grade and this is her 8th year at Ridgeview. I know this school well, and the idea that it produces 'cookie cutter' students is ridiculous. When I first came to Ridgeview, the challenging courses were a lot to wrap my head around, and I had to work hard - for the first time in my life.
