Read what parents are saying about Contra Costa Jewish Day SchoolThis is a wonderful school which emphasizes excellent values and truly prepares students academically for everything. I am so impressed with the creativity of the staff and how engaged they keep the students. It's rigorous by highly relevant. The class sizes are small so each teacher knows the learning style of each student. I have been very impressed and happy with my child's experience.
Posted by a parent on 12/4/2018CCJDS is a fantastic school! We are in our tenth year at the school (one child graduated last year) and couldn't have sent our kids anywhere else. CCJDS feels like home to our family. The teachers treat our children like their own. They are taught Jewish values like respecting elders, being kind to one another, repairing the world and giving back to our community. My children experienced a safe and nurturing place where they can be themselves without judgement, even through awkward middle school years. What a gift! They go into the real world of high school and city commuting with confidence and a solid foundation of respect for themselves and others and compassion for those in need. I am so thankful for our time at CCJDS and am forever grateful to the loving teaches and staff that supported our children through the most influential and important years in their lives.
Posted by a parent on 11/30/2018CCJDS is a wonderful, warm, community-oriented and academically rigorous school. My kids absolutely adore their teachers, their friendships, and the safe and friendly environment that the school provides. I appreciate so many different things about CCJDS, but perhaps most of all I love that my kids WANT to go to school everyday. I love that THEY love it. To start ones life loving school, loving your educational experience, loving how you grow and develop as a person... what could be better than that?
Posted by a parent on 3/2/2018The school is great. They started to impress me even before I got there. My kids transferred in the middle of the school year from a different country with almost no knowledge of english. They prepared a whole special program for them that entailed videos being sent back and forth between us before moving and the teacher and their future colleagues. By the time they actually got in the class, it was like they already knew everyone. They have just the right amount of Judaism and Hebrew, but not super religious and also have great academics with students going into the best high schools.
Posted by a parent on 12/14/2017We've been at the school for over 4 years. Two of my children have graduated and gone on to High School. My third child is in third grade. Every year I say, wow, this is the best year, with the best teachers, it's the most fun, and the best opportunities to grow and learn. I have been so impressed with the energy and passion these teachers bring to the classroom. My kids LOVE school. But even more astounding, this school LOVES my kids. I know it sounds corny, but it's really why the experience is so special here. My kids are developed as individuals, so that they emerge with strong confident identities with a sense of how they fit into the world. They are leaders (in different ways) with strong opinions (that they know matter) and are learning that they can make a difference. I'm so proud of each one of them and feel this school has been essential in nurturing them along their path to greatness.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is the best thing that could happen to a child. It creates a happy and joyful environment for your child and endless education. In the classroom teachers create very safe places for your children to grow with their peers and learn discipline. The community is all very close, the small size of this school allows it to create a family that you wouldn’t be able to get from many other schools. If you don’t send your child to this school you are truly missing out.Other Review2y ago - Springhill Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf I had it to do over again, I wouldn’t have sent my children to St. P’s.Academically, the school can’t keep-up with the excellent local public schools. The ideals of the Catholic Church aren’t readily apparent; while there are some service-oriented projects that the students participate in, the overall behavior standard at the school is sub-par at best. There are far better private schools in the area.Parent Review2mo ago
