Opposed to other reviews, I believe this school is very supportive of its students. The school itself is ran efficiently and is able to fend off the chaotic nature of the district. I personally do not know why other reviews are claiming low scores and API growth when it out performs the 'golden school'

The school has high standards of its students and does not expect mere mediocrity. Finally, the school, I believe, is a very safe campus. In the two years that I attended, I witnessed at most 5 acts of violence. Also, because the campus is offset from the main road, the administration is able to control who enters and exits the campus. As a former student, I enjoyed Yucaipa High. Read less

Yucaipa High is better than most schools I visit as a Military Liaison Officer. Teachers recently went through a lengthy and bitter contract negotiation that created problems for students, administration and themselves. There are still some hard feelings, but the campus has settled down now. (This explains

I really would not consider this school for my children, due largely to the fact that district adiministration in so unsupportive of the principal and his staff. This is a great school. The new principal (since fall 2004) is a great motivator. Yes, sports are an emphasis, but the teachers really care about kids. It is a very safe campus. The district is not supportive of high standards for academics, and doesn't respect teachers, and that is a huge issue.

This school doesn't have any priorities for academics. It's merely focused on sports, which are recreational. Most kids don't care about their education. There needs to be more morals and more focus on helping students get to college, not become average individuals.

I did not like working at this school. Very little support for the staff. Favortism among certain kids. Safety issues and most teachers have very weak classroom management. Went to work for another district after being at YHS for several years. I would not let my kids go here.

I do not like going to a high school that has a lot of violence. My family moved here last year from a city with nice schools. It is hard to go to school with other kids that are so negative about learning. I can see why so many kids do not want to go to college in this town.
