... Read more homework if for that evening. Teacher continually respond within 24 hours to emails (most the same day). Teachers are very open to accommodations if your child needs additional help. Cafeteria offers fresh wholesome food and allows you to review what your child ate via online reports. Children are encouraged to join sports and clubs. Has a lot of electives. An exceptional school! One son is a high school junior, the other in 7th grade. Each teacher takes a firm but loving personal approach the students. They patiently encourage each child to give his/her personal best. The kids are kind and respectful. After moving often and experiencing many schools

They bus from 4 counties, offer a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, and there are a number of international boarding students at the high school. Regarding the High School, their choir has taken state honor awards numerous times and is touring France this summer. Their Japanese club goes to Japan every other year. 'Jan-term' week offers study abroad and on the east coast, each providing a theme (broadway shows, mission work, etc.) Middle school has laptops at each desk in some classes. I have had two children attend monte vista 7-12. There experiences were wonderfull. I have a current 7th grader who is failing tremendously. I have had parent teacher confrences, with little improvement. This school is a wonderful school for kids that don't need extra help..The reason I choose Monte
... Read more Vista over other schools is the safety of the environment. It is a beautiful campus. With classrooms with sate of the art equipment. You don't have to worry where your money is going. It is put to good us. My only complaint is the fact that if your child is not an overachiever, they seem to have difficulties..I have not been approached by the princple to have my daughter tested for learning disablities or tutoring. Great school. Beautiful campus and nice staff and students. Food is not too bad and the atmosphere is friendly. The high school offers many AP classes. Incredible school. The teachers care individually about the students and their college path. There is a wide variety of academic and extracurricular activities. I have had 2 of my 4 kids there, 1 is still in 8th & will go on to high school like my others. I applaud their continued consistant policies & enforcement of their corrections. I do not like having my kids witness kids not complying with rules & nothing be done about it. That is not the case here.

This school is better than most of the public schools in the area. The discipline is consistent and measured making for a good environment for the kids. However, the class sizes are not as small as they advertise and are getting larger and many of the teachers are fresh out of school.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
