I attended Palmer for nine years. It was nice to have the teachers actively involved in the students academics, they always made you stay on top of assignments, and if you were slipping they were more than willing to help. The discipline was very stern, which keeps kids in line. The downside, though,

They have no website, which means there is no way to access the school other tan by phone, and in order to get the number one would have to go to the office. There is no way to access teachers other than via the office. Students cannot even email assignments or questions to teachers. Great for k-5, but not 6-8. Read less

We ve attended Palmer for 6 years and have never once regretted our decision. In fact, we feel privileged to have the staff at Palmer help nurture them both academically and socially. Since many of the staff s children attend we also have a social relationship with staff. I m amazed when we attend

I m proud to say I that I know at least 90% of the kids and parents by sight since we all interact on a regular basis. I laugh at the reviews that state their children have been there x number of years and it was a waste?!? Was it the schools failure or theirs? I feel the principle leadership at Palmer is well balanced, leaning toward a time proven goal of tempered education with a hands on approach. As a working parent, I have seen extraordinary parental involvement from both of my children's classes on each and every social and educational event, including Cub Scouts. I would like to see more sports programs offered , other than just golf, but am delighted that both Scouts and Berkeley Chess School are available on campus. It is a beautiful thing when the entire faculty know each child by name and are committed to their well being in all aspects. Palmer School truly is a journey that stand the test of time. M.
