The school's physical site is very sterile, but the size of the field is fantastic. Many books are quite old, and the school is for profit and the primary focus of the Administration is to enroll new students. We found that the school was not a good fit for our family, and it may not be for you if your

Dorris-Eaton is the best of the best. I lived on the East Coast and so high quality private schools are prolific. Out here it is hard to find an academic school where kids learn at an extremely high level and each student can reach his or her potential. They set the bar high, but give your child the

Excellent prep-school for college-bound kids. Very diverse student body. A safe, polite, challenging, traditional learning school. A very safe & trusting environment to learn in. We looked at a lot of schools that would be challenging enough for our child. We feel we made an excellent choice. We tried

Excellent school with a strong focus on academics. Very caring teachers, small class sizes, motivated kids, involved parents, (sometimes overly so!). Can be intense for less academic kids. Great music and art classes all through elementary which gives it an edge over public schools. Extracurricular sports

I went to DES for three years during junior high and I am now a sophomore in high school. The teaching staff is fantastic, although a few are rather unorthodox in their methods. The academics are quite rigorous but with the right amount of effort, the results can be extremely rewarding. However, I think

Sports-wise, I played volleyball and we won first place in our tournament in 2003. Football and basketball games are fun to attend, and the majority of students participate in at least one sport. The level of parental involvement is high, sometimes almost too high. Overall, Dorris Eaton is a top-notch school, with just a few minor glitches. I completely recommend that you send your children here. Read less
