Both of my kids are in the Magnet program, the magnet program has some amazing teachers. However as stated in a previous post, the navigation with the appropriate teachers is a must. I agree that it is important to choose your teachers at this school, but in every grade, at least in the magnet, there is at least one good choice. I find that everyone, from the administration to the teachers, really cares so much about the kids and the school. My son is in 5th grade and my daughter
... Read more in 2nd, both in the magnet. They have gardening class, music, dance, art and drama. (Dance art and drama are split over the year.) My son exercises in the morning every day with his class before starting academics. There is a big tutoring program at the school too with around 100 mentors working with kids one on one every week. I wish there were more parental involvement sometimes, but the teachers make up for a lot of what parents do in other schools - writing grants, for example. I love the school. Read less

Westminister has great tset scores and most teachers are fully credentialed, which makes for a professional teaching environment. The kindergarten through fifth grade school is wonderful both academically and also in the abundance of after school programs. There are also interns who help with the education

... Read more a wonderful Science Camp program where students doing well in their studies were selected to go away and learn science studies. She has also been in many after school programs involved with LA's best. Dance Drill team, Fashion Design, and yoga & Jazz and cooking. Parents are often asked to join in and come to help with the events in the school. It has really been a great 5 years and I'm very happy that I've choosen Westminster for my daughter's education.
