Small classes, wonderful teachers, and a rustic campus that is a vision of childhood as I wish I had lived it myself. (The first thing you see when you pull up at school is an authentic, full-sized teepee!) Calmont is the antidote to impersonal, overcrowded L.A. schools, whether public or private.

Calmont is the most charming school I've ever seen. I believe my son received the social and emotional support that is sometimes lacking in the early years at other private schools in the area. Class size was always < 20. Academics are fine. Homeroom teachers were great. However, for the money, the curriculum

My son will not continue into Middle school for this reason. Also-Unfortunately, Calmont School will almost certainly be leaving Topanga Canyon after the '07-'08 school year. Read less
