In response to the posting about the 4/5 class there is no plan for this next year. I work at the school. The plan was for the k-3 classes. Multi-Age classes will always be a reality due to the small size of our school. It makes sense to build a strong multi-age program when the school has combos

I'm a mom of 3. One of my children graduated Sunol Glen two years ago and is a high school sophomore now. One is still at the school. I have a 3rd who is not yet school aged. We actually live in Pleasanton, which is one of the 'best' school systems in the Bay area. People move to our town just to

We love this school! I too, was part of the Mission school district's test oriented culture. After watching almost every aspect of creativity and fun taken from my children's education I began searching for a private school. One that supported the whole child with science and math as well as art and

Imagine my surprise as all celebrations at my children's current school had been eliminated. I have only one very happy child there now, my older daughter graduated last year. Her amazing academic and social experience at Sunol Glen's middle school allowed her entrance to a top rated college prep school only taking 1 in 4 applicants. I attribute this to the great teachers, supportive staff and excellent leadership of Mrs. Barns! Read less

We are in our sixth year at Sunol Glen, with a 5th grader and a 1st grader. Both children are thriving and excelling in all areas - academically and socially. The new teachers that have joined the staff in the past couple of years have enhanced the school greatly. I am thrilled with the K/1 & 2/3 combo
... Read more classes this year. It provides opportunities for growth at all levels and nurtures a supportive environment for both the younger and older students. It also provides opportunity for more 'level'-based teaching, as opposed to kinder, first, etc. It saddens me to hear of parents badmouthing the school and its leadership. As parents, we should all step up in support, even if there is disagreement on specific issues. It is in the best interest of our children to all work together to build up, rather than tear down a great school and its staff. Read less

Grades K through 3 are split classes (K/1 and 2/3). Next year they plan on a 4/5 class. Composite classes only work for one grade level in each group. I think this is a horrible mistake for Sunol Glen. I am glad my children are not affected by this change. I would have pulled them from the school.
