Big Bear high is very small and very overcrowded. The teachers are good and they really do prepare the kids for college. Small town, big difference in social classes here. Big Bear High School is a great high school. They have won 3 distinguished school awards, and are waiting for the result of another. Now that Rick Jameson is there, the school is great.

Lots of double standards! Favorites are given priority. Parents can force A.D. and over ride coaches except for football (A.D. coaches) Some staff should not be teaching courses they are teaching as they have no experience nor proper knowledge of given course. School would rather save a few dollars

They taught me so much and were more than just teachers, they were always there if you needed help with understanding the work if it wasn't understandable. When I graduated years later from Berkeley Summa cum Laude in Art History, with my senior thesis published in the Berkeley Undergraduate Journal, I thought of Mr. Emerson when I decided that my next step would be to seek a teaching credential. I don't know what it was about Big Bear High School, but it attracted some incredible teaching talent, and I am a much better person for having attended this excellent school. Read less

Advanced Placement
