My child is currently attending Monticello. The class rooms are spacious and the teachers are very nice. However, the management is terrible - unorganized, and clueless. I'm thinking of withdrawing my child, from this school, the earliest I can.

This is a wonderful school! My son loves it and I plan on sending my youngest next year. The teachers are outstanding. The quality of the program far surpass other private preschool we went to. The director has made time for us when it was needed and works very hard to make sure that each child's transition

Although I cannot speak for the K-8 program; we brought our preschooler here several months ago, and the difference in quality is leaps and bounds over the previous private daycare my child went to. We spent a great deal of time researching a variety of schools and programs and heard from several parents
... Read more how wonderful Monticello is. We wholeheartedly agree!!! Unlike our other daycare, I feel like my child is much more than just another number or, even worse, blank check. The teachers are warm and caring, but maintain the 'authority' needed to have an organized and disciplined classroom. This can be a difficult balance to achieve, but they have certainly found it. Communication is done through so many different Medias email, posted outside the classroom, and on the computer check-in screen, as well as on our daily form. In addition, unlike other local day cares, I have found no language barrier with the teachers, which is a huge plus when you are trying to get a break down of how your child is participating within the classroom. Parental involvement is what you make of it just as with any school, so if you want to be involved, get involved!!! There are plenty of opportunities to do so. Unfortunately, the principal has been out recently due to personal issues, but her staff has been extremely attentive and well organized, and she comes into the school as soon as she can, and knew my child s name before they had even met (amazing, as our last principal it took over 8 months). Perhaps some of the negative reviews on this site are from people who have not seen or been a part of other programs firsthand to better understand what a great program this really is. I am looking forward to our family spending many years here. Read less

We left another private school in Santa Clara to come to Monticello. Our 4th grade teacher here is terrific. My daughter is motivated to learn and gets a good amount of homework which she works on after school in the homework club. The principal and administration team are committed to the students

Student performances are top notch and seem professional though they are created entirely by the staff and students. The computer technology program is terrific and lead by the same teacher who runs the martial arts program. Again, these teachers are dedicated to helping students learn and be motivated to learn. I love the school uniform policy as it avoids all issues related to fashion. Academics are rigorous and they teach 1/2 to 1 grade ahead in most subjects. Read less

We withdrew our child from this program based on a variety of issues. From my perspective the leadership appeared more focused on having everybody wear the embroidered Monticello patch than on the individual needs of students. Currently enrolled my child at this school. There is no parent involvement as it is non-sectarian. They do not need any hours put in by parents and my child's teacher is far O.K., but is not that calm. So far the school seems AOK. We are trying out this school. We hope our kid can learn a lot more.
