I have 2 children currently attending Cal High. The PTA is very involved working hard to address issues and encourage parental involvement. ... Read more campus will benefit the learning and social environment. Teachers and faculty are sincere in thier effort to teach our children and prepare them for young adulthood. Some teachers may have lsot thier passion, but don't taint the great majority of teachers that consciously work hard to relate to the students and teach them well. Unfortunately, in this day and age of short-sighted State funding cuts a public school can't directly compete with the resources private school can demand, but Cal High is focused on the students and teachers are focused on preparing them for the future. Students look forward to her classes, that annually include chorale performance field trips out of state (Boston, Chicago, New York, or Montreal, for example), as well as Winter performances (combining music, dance and drama) and performance engagement at Disneyland's California Adventure stage. Parents and students love to attend the annual, year end Pops Concert in early June. Through the music program, our daughter has also cultivated the friendships of so many talented students. Cnisder it a larger school than average, but teacher /student ratio good. electives quite good and broad. Core subjects standard but quality teachers make scoring higher than average.

Most teachers at Cal are passionate about their subject and are able to instill the desire for excellence among their students. As an example, when my son's English essay was corrected, the teacher had included comments/feedback about style and content. The comments were marked on the assignment

Cal Hi offers a lot of honors and AP courses to choose from. Kids who take these challenging classes have a good chance of getting into a top college. Both of my kids enjoyed their experience at Cal Hi.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
