The parent involvement is high at the school and directly related to the very high quality of enrichment programs available. Academic programs are very good. Strong focus on students, academics, well rounded-life style, and personal character development. Extra-curricular availability is good (excellent relative to public schools, but not what I would expect to see at a private school). Parent involvement is extraordinary

We recently moved from private school to Dixie. Although the academic push is not as strong, Dixie provides a stronger well rounded education. Now instead of having tons of homework, our daughters have a reasonable amount of homework, and still have time for extracurricular activities and family time.
... Read more There is strong parent involvement, band, book club, garden club, drama and art and great after school care if needed. The new principal is right on top of things. Recently I approached my daughter's fourth grade teacher as I was worried my daughter was bored and both the principal and teacher met with me. Within a day my daughter was given more challenging work and now is enthusiastic about school again. My daughter is blessed with brains scoring in the 99% on all categorities of the IOWA and STAR testing. I feel Dixie helps the smartest kids as well as the lower achievers. Read less

Dixie is a great school. My son completed kindergarten this past year and had a fantastic experience. Within a short time all the K teachers knew him by name and recognized his strengths and weaknesses. Patty has the respect of the teachers, parents and kids and has a vision for Dixie. Dixie offers

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
