We have a 2nd grader at Farnham. This is our second year there and we are very excited about the years to come and for our younger daughter to enter as a kindergartener. The principal, Mr. Hayes is absolutely wonderful in everyway. I love that he starts every morning with an assembly to get the kids

Although the 3 other school in Cambrian district scores higher on API, I think the dedicated teachers in Farnham and the parents' involvement totally makes up for it (not that other schools' teachers aren't dedicated...) Overall, it is a great learning environment for the kids. Falcon Pride lives in Farnham everyday! Read less

This is our first year at farnham and I have been very happy with the level of parent involvement at the school. We love Farnham. Of course, no school is perfect, but if issues are raised, the administration and teachers at Farnham are very responsive. We have a 3rd grader currently attending, and have appreciated the efforts of every teacher she's had so far. Principal Hayes started in Fall of '06, and he is great!

We actually live in Union District now, and could be sending our children to Noddin or Alta Vista. But while they have higher overall scores and a 'higher end' demographic than Farnham, we are so happy with Farnham that we are keeping our 3rd grader there, and may keep our second child in the Farnham Family via the charter program. This was our first year at Farnham and I was extremely disappointed with the standards. My daughter was previously in a different school district, and when we moved here a year ago, we had to go to our home school. I feel this year was similar to what she learned in first grade and she was not challenged.

* In 2008-2009 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.
