I am moving my children out of sheridan as fast as I can. The school as a whole is ok. There are some great teachers and some horrible teachers. I am forced to leave this school because of the latter. Children are taught to test and retain little information. The principle is of no help. When you ask

... Read more outstanding, the children are happy and well behaved, In addition to their strong emphasis on reading and math, art, dance, PE and field trips are all part of the curiculum. The afterschool program run by the Stonestown YMCA is absolutely wonderful. The teachers and director are young and enthusiactic. Their summer program was the most fun my children have ever had! The children at Sheridan are able to learn and excel in a safe, structured environment and their success shows in their high scores and happy faces. Read less

I was sceptical about Sheridan when my daughter was 'placed' there on an emergency basis...I needed to pull her out of Creative Arts Charter School on Turk Street. But hopefully soon as the city continues toclean up and beautify the area (the park next door has been completely transformed) that will no longer be the case. Sheridan is a wonderful school and has a large focus on ethnic diversity. The teachers are most helpful and make it more comfortable for parent involvement with school and student activities. Sheridan also has a wonderful afterschool program that has been great to help our two daughters with improving

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
