This school has always felt like home for me, since the minute we stepped foot in the door. Parent involvement is very high, community involvement is very high, the principal is wonderful. My son learned alot there, but now that he is 8 I feel that he needs more academic challenge. Sadly, this school has very low test scores, so much emphasis is placed on improving the test scores of students, to the detriment of the cirriculum, in my opinion. There is not alot of flexibilty for the teachers in what they can teach. My son feels bored and wants more challenge. I love this school, but feel he needs more academic challenge. Read less

The teachers are terrific and the staff headed by Sande Leigh, a dynamic and committed principal, are stellar. My only complaint is more about the school district than the school. Because of the way things work, the brighter students are not given an opportunity to be challenged regularly because the teachers are spread so thin attending to the needs of the average and lower performing students and teaching the mediocre curriculum.
