They raise funds, supplement education with sports, science through gardening, and even capoeira. It also sponsors a host of after school activities and events. Of course, the best part of Fairmount is the wonderful community of people coming from Bernal Heights, the Mission, Noe Valley, Glen Park, and even some from other areas of the City. We have made great family friends that we expect to have for our lifetimes. We love Fairmount. Read less

I would like to echo what the previous parent wrote below. My kindergartener is doing great in Fairmount's Spanish Immersion program. Fairmount's before- and after-school program is also excellent. We're very happy. Fairmount has the most committed and professional educators & administrators I ve ever seen in a public school. It s an exemplary community where students, families, faculty and staff joyfully contribute to enrich the education experience for everyone. Upon entering Fairmount in the 5th grade, my daughter

Throughout the year she got involved in extracurricular activities, received math tutoring, and went on several exciting, educational field/camping trips. I learned that test scores are neither a true indication of a great school, nor of a child s success. My only regret is that she didn t start there sooner! Read less
