... Read more event i attended, and parents were actually talking and laughing with teachers. They had real realtionships to support students. The administrators blended in with staff and not until i was introduced did i realize who was an administrator. The administration truly values their staff and unlike other district schools there is a no feelings of a 'us' and 'them'. I encourage any one to visit this school. Read less

Vaughn was good school several years ago...but since then their scores has gone down which classifies the school as a Program Improvement school. This situation now qualifies parents to get tutoring (outside help) paid by the school and also legally allows them to take thier school out to other performing

Vaughn is a terrrific school that offers many parents the flexibililty like myself to enroll my child in their bilingual program. I am very proud to say that I am learning from my child correct academic Spanish. Being the 5th generation here I feel that the cultural exposure in my son's first grade

Vaughn Middle Scool is excellent.I would highly reccomend this school to student entering middle school. The teachers and staff are great . They keep parents aware of child progress and grades. With my experience, my child's academics lack the participation, involment, dedication, and structural program. Extracurricular activities were not avaialble for low income families. Parental involvement is for the benefit of the school of avoding additional paid staff.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
"Extended day" programs where the school day is extended before and after school to accommodate working parents. These programs should not be confused with common after school clubs or athletic activities.
Gifted and Talented

Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
