This school is low in discipline, pour in academics, teachers don't care about the students playing in the halls and all they do is try to ignore the problem right in front of them.

The school needs a lot of improvement. Mr. (cough, Cough)...class from my observation was unacceptable. The children were out of line, rude and their mouths were polluted with profanity. Ever since the new principal got here, the school does seem a lot more secure. Every morning you can count on him being out in front of the school, as well as more staff out at the back gate. Ever since the new principal took over in the Fall of 2006, the schools overall suspension rate has gone down, student attendance is up and there is more accountability for students and teachers.

As a parent, I am proud of the fact the this new administration, specifically the principal has instituted new standards of behavior for all students, accountability for teachers and strongly communicated to all stakeholders on the schools progress.

The administration doesn't seem to know who does what. The classes are overcrowded and the kids are treated like a number. Getting the administration to intervene and answer questions is like pulling teeth. Looking for a new school for my kid asap!

I found that the teachers at SFMS for the most part have been very helpful. The Drama Conservatory especially is wonderful.
