... Read more teachers are all very warm and loving in addition to being educated and bi-lingual. I am constantly amazed at how a prepared environment ( a Montessori principle) has contributed to creating an atmosphere of learning, hard work, responsibility, and independence in both our daughters. I also love that because our girls really are 'working' during the school day, that we are not expected to do 'busy work', like all the public schools, for homework. If you want your children to have a life long love of learning than Scripps Montessori is your choice. Read less

Scripps Montessori is a true, classic Montessori school so if you don't know what that is or you don't jibe with the Montessori philosophy, you're not going to be happy here. Maria Montessori was not about major milestones such as 'the child is reading at such and such age' or 'the child knows subtraction
... Read more at such and such age.' Montessori philosophy is about the learning process and the understanding of core concepts that are the foundation of the child's education. I don't know what the previous reviewer is talking about with the television. I pop into the school at random times and I just haven't seen that or heard about it from anyone else. The teachers are great. The rooms are filled with natural light and they have real grass to play on at recess! I highly recommend this school. Read less

There was no communication and I wondered about the ability of some of the teachers in terms of knowing child development. After my son was switched to another class, it was better. However, I would not recommend this school.

I feel this is a wonderful school. I do not feel however, that the children watch a lot of television at all. I have always had a very positive and open relationship with both the teachers and the administrators. I just wanted to acknowledge a fantastic school. Hope this review helps.

Extremely poor communication with working parents. Showed PG movie to preschoolers without gaining permission from parents (and even after being told specifically not to). Way too much use of TV in general. Supposed to be a school, not a daycare. Some of the teachers are great, others are not. The

My son is going to finish his Pre-K at this school, and he has socially developed;as well as, intellectually. This school has strong management and is always clean and bright. I love the staff in Pre-K who takes the effort to learn every child's name and personality. They encourage the inner discipline

This school seems to emphasize social development. The principal and teachers are hands-on and work on childrens' self-esteem, compassion and listening as well as the basic academic core. It would be great if they had more extracirricular activities incorporated into the program, such as organized sports

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
