We just started Kindergarten, but I am very impressed. All of the staff seem to really have it together. My sons teacher is wonderful! She is well educated and a great positive influence on the children! Already my son is chanting 'Positive attitudes will Suceed' all around the house. So cute!

My son has been at Sandburg for 4 years and every teacher has been great! They emphacize life lessons like respect, courtesy, and dignity, that supplement the academics. I am disappointed in some of the supplies, books, and materials that they have on hand. I'm not sure they spend their available

The teachers and principal are very dedicated to the students. While the facilities are not the prettiest - it more than makes up for it in the academics. We where so pleased with the effort and dedication towards the studies that the teachers made, that we did not enroll our child in La Jolla Country

Sandburg is a great school especially because of its after school and extra curricular activities. Entering 4th grade you have the option of entering the school band. Your child can continue that hobbie untill middle school where they can enter a full class to hone there skills. There are numerous carnivals
... Read more to participate in. They have after school programs for your child (6 to 6, Klassic Kids, CDC). Other school programs include GATE, a high achieving class. I am very impressed by the involvement of the parents, the PTS is a great group of people. Two thumbs way up! Read less

I have been a parent at Sandburg for 10 years, the school is awesome, the best asset is the wonderful teaching staff. The principal, Mrs. Hinzman is excellent. This school has more parent involvement than most schools,the PTA alone has over 35 board members. People here care, get involved and make

My child attends Sandburg, she is currently in Kindergarted. I love the fact that her teacher tries to keep the parents involved as much a possible. My daughter knows how to read well, this has helped expand her vocabulary a great deal. Ever since she started shcool I noticed she is so eager to learn

I have two children attending Sandburg Elementary school. Last year was our first year at this school after moving from the Orange County area. I was not impressed by the neighborhood in which the school is in, but the test scores were high. Our experience has been great. The teachers that my children
... Read more have had seen very dedicated and are willing to work through problems with the parents. My one child learned to read rather well in kindergaten last year, and this year is doing excellent in 1st grade. My other child is also excelling in her subjects and enjoys her time at school. All the children seen to be well behaved and all the teachers show respect to the children when deciplining is necessary. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
