My daughter attended PB Middle last year and I am excited that my son will be starting 6th grade at PB Middle this year. There is a wonderfully diverse group of students at PB Middle and they represent kids from every walk of life. A true reflection of our great city. My child thrived at PB Middle, participating

This school needs to enforce rules because everyday while i'm in school kids are always acting up and swearing all the time and i think this school needs to be more strict. The faculty is nice but they don't enforce the rules enough. Every i or someone else i see gets insulted. I don't recommend this

I am a PB parent and as stated before the school has too much bullying and not enough supervision. My son went here last school year and transferred him to a different school this school year. He has come a long way since leaving PB Middle. The other San Diego School has brought out the best in him.

We are in our second year at PBMS and we have REALLY been impressed with the teachers at this school. The curriculum is very interactive combining art with social studies and english. My child is learning so much by applying what he is learning to other subjects and to the real world. The IB training
... Read more for the teachers brings out such a creative, socially responsible style. The math dept. is absolutely outstanding, making math fun and really engaging. Lastly, the PE dept. is OUTSTANDING! They are the most energetic, cutting edge group that puts in many hours of overtime with lunchtime and afterschool athletics for all. The librarian has pets for the students to visit during lunch, along with games and special events. If parents are not happy with this school, it may be because they have not visited the school enough to see what goes on! Read less

As a teacher at PBMS, I want to say that I love teaching at PBMS. Here's why? International Baccalaureate is our guiding framework so we teach traditional academics focusing on communication and intercultural understanding. All classes are extended to 70 minutes. ... Read more Class-sizes are reduced in English & Math. Counselors offer pro-active support groups. P.E. Department is incredible! PE Teachers from around the county come to our site to train. Our school has a Charger Fitness room with mountain bike simulators, testing equipment, Dance Revolution and more. We have girls & boys intramural sports teams for Futsal, Soccer, Flag football and Basketball. Afterschool we offer tutoring, choir, band, more intramurals, Latinas, Gear-Up College Prep and Leave a Legacy Clubs. Our teachers attend both IB and district trainings. With this school being an International Baccaularete school, they are suppose to be teaching inter-cultural understanding but I don't think this is happening due to a high level of ignorance from a majority of the students at the school. Pacific Beach Middle School is a place to be proud of! My two children received a quality education from excellent teachers, as well as opportunities for extracurricular activities. I have been so impressed by the energy and dedication of the administration and faculty. PBMS offers a well rounded curriculum.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
