I love Hoover High School because it has a lot of opportunities for students at that school. There are many programs that help us. Also the vibe there is awesome since nobody discriminates anybody.

Typical inner-city demographics; student body is very diverse. Low student and parent participation - possibly due to language barriers or efficacy. Teachers genuinely care about teaching and not about the school's prestige or $$$. Negative aspects are hyped. Beautiful yet historic campus.

The quality of academic programs is just a tadd bit below average. The extracurrical activities has room for improvement not a lot of availability due to lack of student participation. Unfortunately, not a lot of parent involvement.

The quality of their advanced academic programs is wonderful. The teaching staff allows personal growth and the student if at a higher level of education is allowed to enhance their studies.

Hoover teachers are very helpful. The school is very diverse and everyone gets along with each other. It's a school where your child will feel safe.

CST* Test Scores

Grade Level:

Test Year: 2012
Hoover High School
San Diego Unified School District
California
* In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.
