Great freedom of choice. Unfortunately, especially for high school students, it is difficult to find rigorous program. They seem to be trying to address this and have added many on-line opportunities.

Some of the classes they enjoy are nature study, quilting, cartooning, web design and sign language. Dehesa also, pays for P.E. classes, week long sport clinics, and quality field trips. This program gives a parent the flexibility to choose there child s materials however, it needs to develop a way to get the parents involved within the school. This past year they have been working on putting together more extra classes however I found the options for middle school to be limited. The
... Read more field trips have been acceptable and always fun for the kids. This year they held a talent exposition that show cased everything from art to skits to musical. The program will pay for venders , outside classes or programs that have been approved by the school. On a whole this is a good homeschool program to be involved with. Read less

I have seen great improvement since the school was founded and feel comfortable with the direction the school is headed. Most charters seem to give lip serivce to a personalized approach and try to bring the classroom into the home, Dehesa Charter seems to be true to their stated goals of serving each child on a personalized basis. Dehesa has had a new administration since February 2004. It has been a breath of fresh air. The school is running smoothly with lots of personal attention and personalized learning. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
